Calling all Makers, Artists, and Handcrafters!

Office of Student Life is hosting our 3rd MAKERS' MARKET!

We want to show off your talents! This event is hosted twice a year, once in Fall and once in Spring.

 

EVENT INFORMATION: 

Spring 2024 - Friday April 26th - 11am to 3pm: Sign up for a booth here!

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? All members of the Cal Poly Humboldt community can participate as a Maker. This includes active students, faculty, and staff. Preference will be given to matriculated students. Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) can also sign up as a group to raise money for their activities. 

RULES FOR MAKERS: You can only sell homemade products. (No food products!) You must have someone at your table the entire time from 11 am-2 pm on October 20th. You can only accept Venmo, credit cards, or checks. Some examples of products: Artwork, Sewing projects, Clothes you have designed and/or upcycled, Woodwork, Jewelry, Plant arrangements, Handmade cards, Fiber arts, Soaps, Pottery/Ceramics, Stickers, Caricatures, anything you make with your hands!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: Tables have a small rental fee of $3 for students, $3 for RSOs and $20 for staff and faculty. You will be sent a link for payment on confirmation of your table. We will confirm your participation by April 1st and send a payment link to finalize your reservation.

Please note that a campus wide Makers Market (hosted by Office of Student Life) is approved by the University to be held on Cal Poly Humboldt campus once during the fall semester and once during the spring semester. Any additional requests for Makers Markets at Special Events must be approved in advance by the University (delegated to the Vice President, Enrollment Management and Student Success).

Community members, entrepreneurs, faculty, staff, students and administrators have been invited to attend the Makers Market.

Any full-time or part-time Cal Poly Humboldt student is welcome to be a vendor. Tables are limited, so it’s on a first-come-first-serve basis. Clubs, staff and faculty are also welcome to set up a table, but current students take precedence.

The Makers Market is a great place to learn and hear what others think about your product or service. You can make a sale and receive helpful feedback from other entrepreneurs, faculty and customers.

The Makers Market is not a place to sell old items or items manufactured by someone else. The Makers Market is not a garage sale. For safety reasons, food is also not permitted.

We understand you might have class during the time of the Makers Market, but you must provide table coverage for the event during its entirety.

There is a minimal cost to have a booth at the Makers Market. Tables have a small rental fee of $3 for students, $3 for RSOs and $20 for staff and faculty. You can keep all the proceeds from what you sell, except for what you owe the government. You will be sent a link for payment on confirmation of your table.

All Booths include (1) 6’ table and (2) chairs. Makers Market vendors are responsible for providing all other necessary elements for their display. All vendor payment systems and sales transactions are the responsibility of the vendor. The Makers Market is outdoors.

Makers Market vendor set-up will take place on each morning of the event. Set up and break down instructions will go out by the Friday prior to the event.
